Big Cypress Webelos Woods

April 7-9, 2017

Camp Brosig
1893 Trenchman Road,
Sealy, TX 77474

Webelos Woods is a campout designed to introduce Webelos to the many outdoor adventures of Boy Scouting. This awesome weekend event includes patrol-method camping and Scout activities. On Saturday morning, Webelos patrols compete in Webelos skills (first aid, fire building, camping skills, games, knots) and during the afternoon local Boy Scout troops teach basic Boy Scout skills. The patrols are judged on patrol flag and yell, resources, leadership, teamwork, skills and Scout spirit.

What to Bring

Program

Webelos Woods is for fourth grade Webelos. The event is run by adult volunteers. The program will give the boys a sneak preview of what to expect in Boy Scouts, but stays focused on their Cub Scout activities. Webelos Scout dens/patrols will work on adventures and learn teamwork. There will be an opening ceremony at the Saturday morning flag raising, closing campfire on Saturday night and worship service on Sunday morning. A boy can earn the achievements by attending just during the day, but will benefit from the full program by camping out. Fees will be the same for commuting Scouts as camping Scouts as all will receive the same materials. An adult program will keep all adults busy and entertained while educating them on Webelos transition to Boy Scouts. A separate Webelos-To-Scouts-Exposition (WTSE) will be held for these same boys when they are in the fifth grade in the fall.  WTSE is an introduction for Webelos and parents to area Boy Scout troops they may be interested in visiting/joining after Cub Scouts.
